This project is located in Foshan, a historically famous city in Guangdong China featured by the integration of picturesque Lingnan scenery, ancient architectures, world renowned Lingnan culture, pottery, Cantonese opera and other cultural and historical elements.

Under the overall modern style and with the idea to create the water-texture outer contour like antler, the interior design searches for the integration of refined and innovated element of antler and such distinctive cultures as Foshan pottery, Lingnan architecture and casting. Based on the integration of architecture and antler culture, the design aims at extension and restructuring from the building to its inner space through arousing the awareness of the five scenes. With peaceful, simple tone and gentle texture, this design pursues the silent expression of Oriental life aesthetics with philosophical spirit in the specific scenario and interaction.

In the reception lobby, the designer extracts gravel, mountain and wood from nature and applies these elements to the space through simple methods. It emits bunches of faint light lines, making the simple and elegant space present rich layers. With tone of nature covering much of vertical faces and floor, the space shows confidence in low profile. Under the design, the sand table area of the housing model creates a third nature of an emotion-filled scenery through the refraction of the sceneries on both sides under natural light, indicating the vibrancy of life. The water wave element at the upper part of the sand table features fixation of dynamic waves in the space. Combined by the extreme simplicity and abstract freehand style of the landscape and leisure area, more imagination and emotional resonance without the need of explicit expression are aroused. At the backdrop of clean and neat tone, the main background constituted by mountains and stones expresses the conception of simplicity and ethereality. Matched by artistic furnishings full of humanistic sentiments, a tea table made of old growth-ring-featured wood and the ink painting element with an indistinct touch of clarity and generosity, the design creates a gentle, low-profile yet elegant leisure area, narrowing the distance between man and nature and making you feel like being embraced by nature.

The highlight in this project is that the interior design fully respects and allows the original expression of the space. By cutting the image with lines, all the furnishings show the simplicity of nature through their materials and colors, with every bit of them reflecting detail quality and functional comfort. The bamboo forest surrounding the building is applied in the design to imply the metaphor of nature. This makes you feel like living in the bamboo forest to relax freely amid the bamboos and breeze. As the quality and layering of the space improve, you will get relaxed and relieved physically and psychologically.
